How does the 5165 Bark Stop Collar work?
Your barking dog activates the collar. The collar delivers a low level stimulation after the first bark, this allows the opportunity to remedy the behavior. If the dog continues barking the preset level is delivered. An audible tone, and blinking red light illustrate the unit has been activated.

Will other dogs barking or outside noises activate the 5165 Bark Stop?
Corrects when both sound and vibration are detected. Outside noises and other dogs cannot activate it.

What stimulation level should I set my Bark Stop Collar on?
When using the Bark Stop Collar the first time, start at Level 1 and work your way up one level a day until the desired response from your dog is obtained. For stubborn dogs, you can start at a higher level ? level 10 is the maximum.

It says that it?s waterproof on my collar? what does that mean?
The collar can be submerged in water up to 10 feet.

How do the rechargeable batteries in the Bark Stop work?
Plug the battery charging end into the collar receiver and plug the AC adapter into a standard household outlet. Initial charge will take up to 10 hours and all subsequent charges should take 2 or more hours to completely charge the battery.

What safety features are built into the 5165?
Collar will only administer a level of stimulation when sound and vibration are detected. The units automatically shuts- off if it delivers 5 high level stimulations consecutively ? it shut off for 2 minutes and then returns to normal operation.

How long will the batteries last in the Bark Stop?
Under normal conditions a full charge will last 3 days.

My collar does not seem to be working. What should I do?
Adjust fit of collar. Trim hair or use longer probes. Recharge batteries

Which probes should I uses on my dog?
Use short probes for shorthaired dogs. Use long probes for longhaired or thicker coated dogs.

How do I set the ID code at the transmitter for the 5140 and 5132? 
1) Connect unit to power cord, and press and release on/off button to turn unit on. Red POWER light should be lit. 2.)With one or both of the loop wires disconnected ? press and hold the #5 button on the transmitter. The LOOP light blinks 9 times, release button ? you now have a new id code set in the transmitter. 3.)Connect the loop wire ? the LOOP light should light solid red showing a continuous boundary wire loop. 4.)Press any one of button 1 ? 5 to set the boundary field width ? use the table listed inside the front door for reference.

How do I set a new collar's stimulation level or check the current setting on the 5140 or 5132? 
1.)With the unit turned on ? you can check the current stimulation level setting by quickly pushing the power button for less than 2 seconds. The light will come on, and then blink to signify the setting level. 2.)With the unit turned on ? you can reset the stimulation level at any time. Simply push and hold the power button until the light goes off ? then quickly push the button for the desired level (1 ? 5). The light will blink showing the level.

How many acres will my dog be confined using the 5140 and 5132? 
Fence Free and Fence Free Deluxe can cover up to 25 acres (additional wire and flags would need to be purchased separately-5147 Boundary Kit).

I have installed my wall unit for the 5140 or 5132 and there are no lights on. What could be wrong? 
If there are no lights, the following may have occurred. ?One or both wires are not properly connected. ?Both wires are connected but the wire is broken or nicked. ?The transmitter has malfunctioned. ?The transmitter is not plugged in or turned on.

How do I charge the collar for my 5140 or 5132? 
Ensure the power transformer is plugged in and the LED is on. Place collar receiver onto docking station located on the wall unit transmitter. Initial charge will take up to 10 hours and all subsequent charges should take 2 or more hours to completely charge the battery.

How do I test the wire for my 5140 or 5132? 
Turn on the wall mount transmitter/control box. Hook up the test light to collar and slowly walk the collar receiver toward the boundary wire, listen for the warning tone, and watch the test light illuminate.

The collar for my 5140 or 5132 comes preset at Level 1. How do I change the correction level? 
There are 5 available correction levels. To increase the correction level, press button for less than 2 seconds for the number of times for each correction level. For example, press 3 times for less than 2 seconds each time for Level 3 correction. Remember when training, always start at the lowest level and check your dogs response to the stimulus. You should always use the lowest level necessary to get the desired response.

How long will training take for my 5140 or 5132? 
Each step should take approximately three days to complete. Training will take 10-20 minutes, 2-4 times a day for 7-14 days.

How long will the batteries last for the 5140 or 5132? 
Under ?normal? conditions a full charge will last 3 days, but we recommend placing the collar on the docking station ate the end of each day.
