This salt lick are not your typical compressed salt blocks! They are mined from ancient deposits in the Himalayan Mountains. Himalayan Pink salt slabs, plates, and bricks are harvested from deep within the ancient Himalayan mountain range of Pakistan. There, they have remained protected from pollution and impurities for centuries, making this what many consider the purest, cleanest salt in the world. The salt is mined as large, meteor-like boulders and later sliced into, slabs, blocks, bricks and plates as well as sculpted into bowls. The rose pink color assures pure and full of minerals.

A 550 million year old source of minerals and trace elements for your horse or pony. These salt licks must be the purest form of salt available. The distinctive rose pink color comes from the salts’ high mineral content, such as iron, potassium and magnesium, which are all vital for maintaining health. Mass produced salt licks are produced using salt with minerals added in the manufacturing process. Himalayan rock salt licks are literally 'rock hard’, this means that horses and ponies are unable to bite chunks off the block, a problem that can occur with the softer ’pressed’ salt licks. These licks are also much more weather resistant, which means they can be safely left outside in the field for horse to 'self dose’.

We bought this for our rabbits. They seem to really enjoy this compared to the small 2 inch salt licks we have been using. The only issue we had is they love to chew, so they chewed through the rope. We got a holder for the salt lick and all is well. It holds up well in the Florida Heat.,
