The kids love it to play with our hamsters out of the cage. You can put it in different areas so it is versatile. It's nice for letting dwarf hamsters run around but be carful because depending on how active they are they will be able to figure out how to climb over the fence. I got this for my guinea pig. I thought I could use it outside or in the house when I wanted to keep him contained but didn't want to put him back in the cage. I was concerned that it would be too small (and it really is) but he loves it. He's older and not all that active. I though this would be a great way to keep my gerbil from roaming around when I took them out of their cage. It's nice and colorful and I had high hopes for it. You have to watch when this is being used because our hamster can escape. It is still useful, though as it allows our kids to interact with him and I use it when cleaning the cage. I just keep an eye on him if he starts to put his little feet on the fence. The fence itself is built very well. It is sturdy and easy to fold-up and put away. The little plastic mat too thin and tears easy so you need to either put the playpen on a surface that cleans up easy or repair the mat. This is a great idea to add some space to my hammies cage. I attached a tube that lets them go back and forth. I saw some reviews about other hamster escaping so I was a little concerned but my little robo dwarf hamsters have not escaped. They seem to like it a lot as they are in and out of the area all the time. The bottom mat cleans up well but it is easily ripped so I just put the whole think on a large board I can easily clean-up. I wanted a larger play area for my hamster and this fit the bill. I like that it gets him out of the terrarium style glass enclosure he lives in and allows him some fresh air. It also is a great way to get our kids to interface with him as that is the reason we got him to begin with. They are close to him but don't necessarily have to handle him to play. Awesome product for dwarf hamsters! It is escape proof and plenty of room to run around. Toss a few toilet paper rolls in there, and watch the antics. However, supervision is required. Somehow, the floor mat is very tasty and attractive. Otherwise, an excellent product.Raul, Wed Mar 20, 2013
