The hood zips off and can convert into a plush kitty sill. The inside cushion is lined with a soft yet durable microfleece. No tools are needed for installation when using the provided Velcro® fasteners. I purchased this cat perch to replace an old, worn and much loved cat napper. While my one cat enjoyed the cat napper, the other wasn't as fond of it's lack of support in the middle. I saw this perch and figured I'd give it a try.
Both my cats seem to like it a lot! It allows them to see out the window and watch the birds. However, it seems much smaller than the cat napper. My larger cat used to enjoy sleeping upside down, snuggled into the cat napper and about all he can manage in this is the "cat loaf" where all his parts are tucked in.
It's a very nice perch. Soft, comfortable and it's visually appealing. I imagine if you had a smaller cat, they'd fit on it better than mine did.
