We have had 2 feeders for nearly 20 years -- which have completely stumped the squirrels! BUT - recently we had "one" smart squirrel who was able to work his way down the side and wedge himself into the corner of the feeding shelf. This avoided his putting weight on the closer shelf. SO - we glued some wood on the inside of the two sides and mounted another piece of wood across the front to deter him. We haven't been able to see if that works yet -- BUT for so many years we thought we had the unsolvable product!! I have 4 of these at 2 different houses and have gifted several. They are not only squirrel proof, but hold a lot of seed and are easy to fill. The seed seems to stay dry in rain or snow, unlike some feeders. They are very sturdy. It would be nice if they came in more colors.Kate Dahlstrom, Mon May 30, 2011

We have had one of these feeders for about five years. Have had no problems except the paint is flaking at this time. Have given these as gifts in the past and have just purchased two more for gifts. Have bought several "squirrel proof bird feeders" and this is the only one that is Truly Squirrel Proof. I have had my feeder for at least three years.
